MARY ELIZABETH MEIKLEJOHN November 27, 1923 - July 12, 2005 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Elizabeth Meiklejohn on July 12, 2005 at the age of 81 at the St. Adolphe Care home. She is survived by her loving husband Jack of 51 years; son John (Kim) and their children, Brooklyn and Breanne, son Ranny; daughter Elizabeth Meakin (Bert) and their children, Madison and Megan; son Peter (Mary) and their children, Aaron, Nick and Rachel. Predeceased by her parents, Ranold and Flo and brother Joe. Mom was born and raised here in Winnipeg and spent 77 years of her life living in the same house on Morier Ave. in St. Vital. She worked several different jobs including Eaton's and The Federal Government. She worked all her different jobs without ever compromising her family values. Mom loved to spend as much time as possible at her cabin in Winnipeg Beach surrounded by her family playing cards till the wee hours of the morning. When she wasn't playing cards you could find her at the Bingo Hall. Mom loved to make frequent trips down to the States to shop, shop and shop. These trips were usually in the later part of the year so she could load up for her favourite time of the year CHRISTMAS . Her family wish to thank the kind and caring staff at the St. Adolphe Care Home. Thank you, God, for the time you gave us with her and for taking her home with such gentle comfort. Until we meet again... Funeral mass will be held on Monday, July 18 at 2:00 p.m.at St. Mary's Cathedral, 353 St. Mary Ave. Viewing to take place one half hour prior to mass. Interment will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery. Parking will be available at Eaton's parkade on Carlton behind the Cathedral. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The Desjardins Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements 233-4949; toll free 1-888-233-4949.
